Dear Moe :
First, my wife and I are very shocked that your brilliant Saturday morning career at WRKO has come to such a sudden, ignominious end.
This was an insult to you, your wife and family, your loyal audience and friends, and to those members of the armed forces in Baghdad, to whom you have introduced us during the last two years.
Second, you have been a voice of common sense and encouragement to those of us living in the Boston area, who feel that we live in an almost one party State.
Third, you were a source of courage and humour to me during the Clinton years. Since then, you have given President Bush credit, where credit was due,
and sensible criticism whenever that was needed. You have never let us forget that 9/11 happened, that we are at war, and that we may well be at war for many years to come.
Fourth, what I have called for many years 'the curse of the Clintons' still hangs over this land of ours. It has been poisoning the public and broadcasting discourse for far too many years. Our two political parties have let us down. One would have us surrender; the other is lacking in courage. Independent voices, such as yours, Senator Lieberman, Victor Davis Hanson, Mark Steyn, and Duncan Hunter - to mention a few - are drowned out by the appallingly low level of intelligence of many of the characters that dance about on our television screens every night. If they had been alive iduring the Second World War, many of them would have been locked up as quislings.
We are now being deprived of your voice, as we were deprived of Duncan Hunter's during the recent Presidential candidate debates. Mark Steyn is in trouble with the Moslem dominated Human Rights kangaroo courts in Canada. And, now the NYT/Clinton hate machine has begun to train its sights on Senator John McCain. Will there be enough voices of courage around between now and November to stand up to the vast crowds of swooning, fainting,
worshippers of the last alternative candidate, who would repeat the same mistake as Neville Chamberlain made in 1938 ?
We should all feel privileged that a man, tortured by the North Vietnamese forty years ago, and who has served his country every since, should be one of our choices to vote for in November. Why would anyone want to vote for someone, who wants to give a million of our tax dollars to a memorial to the Woodstock Rock&Roll Festival ? It is absolutely incomprehensible to me, and a sure road towards national suicide.
I beat you to Salman Pak though ! You won't remember that.
Get some rest. You deserve it. We look forward to your resumption of "Issues of the Day.com". And, this brings our best wishes to you for your success in your future ventures. J.Ruthven.Concord, MA.
Dear Moe,
So sorry to hear of your abrupt career change. I don't know how my Saturdays will be now. Just wanted to let you know how much you'll be missed...I'll also miss the trumpet wake up call. Remember when one door closes...another opens. Best of Luck!!A Listener In Taunton,MA
PS: I also miss you and Jim on the Garden Show where did that go????
Hello Mr. Lauzier,
I wanted to send a quick note of thanks for all the years of great programming that you provided to your listeners. I enjoyed your broadcasts every week. I especially appreciate the time you spent with our service men on the air. No one else does this to the extent that you do. You should be very proud of your service to our fighting men and women. Hang in there Moe. We are all aware of the nightmare that WRKO has become. You are one hundred times the man that the management suits at Entercomm are. And everyone knows it. I look forward to listening to you on your new station.
Sincerely, Tim, Franklin, MA
Moe,
What's going on!!! It isn't bad enough that your not on WRKO more and now I hear you are not going to be on at all.
Can you give me more information, when your able, of course. And what will happen to everyone else on the station?
I looked forward every Saturday to hear you. I suspect it's the PC crowd, but hope I'm wrong. Pretty soon we will have no voice.
I want to wish you many good things. Thank you for all the enjoyable hours of talk radio. God bless you and your family, and just maybe you may appear on some other talk show. You just never know.
Cha
Dear Moe:
I hope you do realize that you have been a tremendous force in a lot of people's lives and cancelling your show is the final straw of the stupidity by the NY suits.
I go back to the Paul Benzaquin et al days and while quite young really cut my teeth on expressing my ideas and standing firm for my convictions while listening to opposing views.
I remember when another group of NY suits bought the station and decided to change the whole format and completely drove a very successful station right into the ground as the faithful listeners and puchasers of advertised products went elsewhere for their entertainment.
I saw another corporation come in and buy the station and slowly build it up to the glory position it has held for a long time.
Recently it has become obvious that the new owners were in it all for the almighty buck no matter how they sold their human wares on the street corner. Good jpeople left either on their own or very unceremoniously. The hiring of a convicted felon who has no sense of sorrow for what he did and how he managed to slip out of doing jail time was the final straw of my keeping WRKO on all day long. I picked and chose and watched the Howie Carr battle closely. We all know he is the dollar man for the station and he tells it like he sees it. The entrance of a NY rapper style punk from the streets lost more of my interest. Now they have hit and run at you and they probably are going to try to shove more self interest hucksters down people's throats/ A word to the wise: "if you don't learn from history you are doomed to relive the pain of defeat again"
Once the Worcester station brings Howie back on for his full program I will be down to listening to the bloggers on Sunday night until they are gone and then WRKO will no longer make my list.
I intend to write to the advertisers to inform them the customers are leaving in mass and they would be wise to follow the purchasing dollars elsewhere. That's what works with this type of cheap operation.
I suspect the :little Worcester station" with its careful programming is growing little by little and soon will take over the big market. By then the punk suits will find a buyer and hit the rails leaving their debris behind.
Keep up your great ideas and rants they are molding a new generation and we need that foundation to hold this country together.
Enjoy your vacation in Florida. Maybe you could enjoy a cold one with Mr Steinbrenner. You see I am a die hard Yankee Fan!! Maybe I'll tell you why some day. But Yankees don't suck!! They live to win another day!!
Keep on Talking Moe you are not off the Air!!
Beth
I've been sick with whatever has been going around. Had your show on this morning but was dozing on and off when I thought I heard you say you'd been on the air for 24 years and you were going.
What on earth happened? Doens't RKO realize people like me tune out paid programming and most syndicated programming? Your lines were always busy. You're great at what you do. I can't believe these morons would be that stupid - although Finneren is still on the air.
Anyway, I'm heartsick. Every Friday evening I'd tell myself tomorrow Moe will be on. Other than Howie no reason to tune in there at all.
I'll start checking into IOTD daily, so I don't miss anything. And I'm hitting Save WRKO to see what they have to say and to leave my comments, which I'll be leaving with management on Monday.
Get back on a RI station; I can pull that in just fine. Saturdays won't be the same; Sundays haven't been the same since you got axed off those. Maybe Christie will buy a small station for you? I'll become your protege. Always wanted my own talk show.
I'm so sorry, Moe. You're a great guy, talented, knowledgable. Guess you and I aren't in the RKO demographics anymore. Please do keep in touch occasionally. You've been a part of my life for nearly half of it - I have valued every hour I spent listening to you all of these years no matter what time/days you were on. It was a wise investment of my time, and you will be sorely missed.
Now I'll have to throw my Saturday marble out without you.........
Fondly,
Andrea From Canton
I've selected a cross sample of the emails we have received during the last 24 hours. I began answering them individually but soon realized it was an impossible task. I'm truly sorry I can't reply to all, a day is only 24 hours long. I hope you understand the dilemma. The last name and email address of senders has been removed to protect the privacy of the senders. I will leave this web site up and add future letters to it as well as allow you to add whatever comments you wish (just click below) without needing to sign up with Google. You will only need to decipher the spam prevention code......Moe
